Homemade hot chocolate

homemade hot chocolate

Homemade hot chocolate: sweet, creamy, heavenly stuff. The hot chocolate itself is absolutely easy to make. If you add a few more ingredients, you can serve hot chocolate in many different ways. This time, we''ve come up with five different recipes to brighten up cold evenings.

1. Frozen hot chocolate milkshake

To make a hot chocolate milkshake, allow the hot chocolate to cool to room temperature. Pour the cooled to room temperature evenly into the ice cube tray. Place the filled container in the freezer and wait for the hot chocolate to turn into iced chocolate cubes. Transfer the hardened cubes to a blender and add an extra splash of milk (or ice cream) and chocolate. Blend until you have a creamy custard. Serve with a straw and sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles.

2. Hot chocolate with melted marshmallow marshmallows

Fill an oven-safe dish or cup with hot chocolate and a generous amount of mini marshmallow marshmallows.Place the cup in an oven that has been preheated to 100 °C, but leave the oven door open, otherwise the marshmallows will burn. Watch the marshmallows start to melt. When they have turned a nice golden brown colour, remove the cup from the oven with oven gloves.

3. Hot chocolate with cinnamon

Hot chocolate with cinnamon and other winter spices is more than welcome on cold days. Make it by adding 2 aniseed pods, 10 cracked cardamom pods, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 teaspoon of grated ginger and 3 tablespoons of dark brown sugar to hot chocolate. Cook the mixture gently without boiling, then strain out the solid spice particles with a fine sieve before serving.

4. White hot chocolate

Hot chocolate can also be made with creamy white chocolate. Prepare by mixing 100 g white chocolate with 200 ml milk and 1/2 teaspoon BAM vanilla paste. Add nutmeg, cinnamon or cardamom if desired. Prepare the milk in a small saucepan and heat just enough to scald. Melt the chocolate in a water bath and add the vanilla paste. Pour the hot milk over the melted chocolate and stir for 30 seconds to melt the chocolate. Top with whipped cream, marshmallows and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.

5. Hot chocolate with espresso

Hot chocolate with espresso could also be called the grown-up version of hot chocolate. Add a dash of espresso to the hot chocolate and serve. For the preparation 125 ml sweet cream, 250 ml milk, 50 g BAM dark chocolate, brown sugar, 60 ml freshly prepared espresso, 10 g hazelnuts, BAM cocoa powder.

Whisk the sweet cream just enough to thicken it a little, but it is still a little runny. Pour the milk into the bowl where the BAM dark chocolate is waiting. Stir continuously with a whisk over low-medium heat until the mixture comes to the boil. Reduce the heat and bring to the boil. Add sugar to taste. Choose two glasses in which to serve the hot chocolate and pour 30 ml of espresso into each. Carefully pour the chocolate mixture over the top, then add the whipped cream, hazelnuts and a pinch of BAM cocoa powder.
