Affogato in Italian literally means "drowned". The word is used to describe when food is covered with a liquid, usually hot liquid poured over cold food. In our country, a well-known version is coffee, where hot coffee is poured over ice cream. But this time we have prepared a recipe for chocolate mousse in the "affogato" way.

The preparation itself is completely simple and the result will be a delicious chocolate mousse with espresso. If you are having guests over for dinner and are looking for a nice but simple dessert that can be easily prepared in advance, try making the affogato chocolate mousse. The ingredients in the recipe are enough for 4 to 6 servings.

Put the espresso, mascarpone cheese and BAM dark chocolate in a pan. Stir over a medium heat. When the chocolate has melted, remove from the heat and put the mixture in a large mixing bowl to cool.

When cool, whisk the egg whites with another mixing bowl and an electric beater until stiff and creamy. Add a pinch of salt and the sugar, and beat again for a minute until the mixture is stiff.

Fold 1/3 of the beaten egg whites into the cream mixture, then gently fold in the rest of the egg whites with a large metal spoon. Try to keep as much air as possible.

Divide between 4-6 small jars and shake gently to flatten the tops. Then chill for another four hours, or preferably overnight. Before serving, sprinkle the chocolate mousse with cocoa.
