banana split

There''s nothing better than a traditional banana split when thinking of making ice cream desserts! Banana split is a dessert from childhood and we''re sure many adults love it too. The traditional version of the banana split is made with three different types of ice cream, a banana and whipped cream. Add a variety of toppings, garnish with nuts and serve! If you make the traditional version, of course.

But if you opt for a modern take on the banana split dessert, the "experimenting" starts with the ice cream flavour. The BAM baking range also offers an ice cream mix that creates a delicious, fluffy and light homemade ice cream with a milky blossom flavour that doesn''t even need an ice cream maker. The preparation of this ice cream is very simple as the ice cream mix is simply mixed with whipped sweet cream.

This neutral flavoured ice cream provides a good base for modern tastes. Pistachio spread can be added to the ice cream and a scoop of pistachio ice cream can be added to the banana split. Adding hazelnut spread recreates the flavour of the famous Kinder bueno chocolates, while the mango topping provides a refreshing dollop.

This time we''ve created a recipe for a banana split with vanilla, raspberry and mango flavours.

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • whipped cream

Instructions:

1
Prepare three different containers. For each ice cream flavour, prepare the unsweetened sweet whipping cream separately. Adjust the quantity according to the flavour to be prepared. For the mango and vanilla flavours, use 175 ml of sweetened whipping cream, and for the raspberry flavour, use only 120 ml. Using a hand-held electric mixer, whip the sweet cream until almost firm (until peaks start to form on the surface). To this whipped cream, add the ice cream mix, 50g in each container, and mix well with the electric mixer to ensure that the whipped cream and the ice cream mix are well combined. Then add the BAM mango topping to one container and the BAM vanilla paste to the other. When preparing the raspberry flavour, add the firm yoghurt and then the BAM raspberry topping while mixing.
1
Peel the banana and cut lengthwise to make two halves. Place the banana halves on the edge of a serving plate. Place a scoop of ice cream of each flavour between the halves. Top the ice cream balls with whipped cream, add other flavours of BAM toppings if desired or use BAM spreads to enhance the flavour. Add a little decoration if desired and impress with the serving!
