brownies with chocolate drops

Do you also love brownies with lots and lots of chocolate? Then you''ve come to the right place, because this time we''re presenting a recipe for brownies with delicious chocolate drops.

The secret origin of brownies

Every chef knows that sometimes it''s hard to come up with a new recipe that will delight our taste buds - and this brownie recipe is no exception. Wondering which master chef came up with it? Back in 1893, the chef of a well-known Chicago hotel was given the task of preparing a dessert for an event that could be eaten even more easily than a piece of pie, and that would be smaller than a piece of cake. Under his skilful fingers, he created a brownie with twice as much chocolate as today''s recipes call for, and topped it with walnuts and apricot topping.

Many chocoholics still wonder if this is a myth or if it was really about brownies, as some sources claim that the first recipe for brownies was published in a cookbook in 1896 by Fannie Farmer, who adapted her recipe for brownies (which were originally biscuits) so that they could be made in a rectangular baking tray. But this recipe did not contain a single piece of chocolate! It was not until 2 years later that the Kansas City newspaper published a recipe for brownies with chocolate. The true origins of the first brownies will therefore probably remain an eternal mystery.

Where did brownies get their name?

Many people also wonder where brownies got their special name. Just as there is no completely accurate answer to the question of how they came into being, there is no completely accurate answer to why they are called that. Most likely, they got their name from a children''s comic strip starring Brownies, imaginary elves who like to play pranks.

With the development of the chocolate industry and the increasing access to cocoa or chocolate in the 20th century, chocolate brownies soon conquered the world. They quickly captivated housewives in particular, who no longer just looked after the home and the children, but started going to work, as they were quick and easy to prepare. Their popularity was also boosted by the mass media, as they were featured on many cooking shows in the United States and around the world.
