chocolate hazelnut balls

Chocolate balls with hazelnuts are a quick to prepare energy bomb! The chocolate hazelnut balls in the recipe below are quick to prepare and can be eaten when you need extra energy. They are made with just five ingredients. One of the ingredients is roasted hazelnuts, where you have two options. One option is to roast the hazelnuts yourself, the other is to cheat a bit and use BAM Roasted Premium Hazelnuts.

We used BAM hazelnut spread for the chocolate balls, because of course we always have it on hand. Instead of hazelnut spread, you can use any spread made from nuts. For example, you can replace it with peanut or almond spread. Dates are also one of the ingredients. Medjool dates are best as a base for energy balls because they are sweet, sticky, chewy and taste like caramel. You can also use regular ones, but they should definitely be pitted.

With the ingredients from this recipe, you can make between 12 and 15 balls, depending on how big you want them. You can adjust the quantities if you want more or less.

BAM tip: Roll the chocolate balls in roasted hazelnuts. They provide texture and flavor.

And the balls will look even better.

You can also roll the chocolate balls in coconut instead of hazelnuts or make the balls from crumbled cookies. You can get the recipe here. For adult celebrations, you can add some rum to the mix and serve rum balls instead of chocolate balls. You can find the recipe here.
