cookie glaze

If you're looking for an easy glaze to decorate your cookies, you've come to the right place! Even if you're far from a skilled pastry chef or you want your kids to help you make them, that doesn't mean your holiday cookies can't look like they were made by a true master pastry chef. If you follow our new recipe for a simple cookie glaze, you'll get a glaze that sets up nicely so your cookies don't stick together.

For the glaze, you only need five ingredients: Sugar, BAM vanilla paste, agave syrup or honey, salt and water. Very simple!

BAM tip: Pour the glaze on the outer edges first, then fill the center of the cookies with it. If you want to sprinkle anything on top of the glaze, do it immediately after applying the glaze to the cookies.

This glaze can be used for cookies such as:

Instructions:

1
In a medium bowl, mix the powdered sugar, BAM vanilla paste, agave syrup or honey, and 67 ml of room-warm water. Mix with a fork. You'll get a very thick mixture that's hard to stir. Using a hand mixer, stir in the remaining 8 ml of water. Remove the mixer and drop the frosting back into the bowl. The frosting will hold its shape for a few seconds, then it will dissolve back into its liquid form. Now you know that the frosting is the right consistency and you can use it. If the mixture is too thick and does not change to a liquid form after a few seconds, add 8 ml of water or a little more until the right consistency is reached.
2
If you want to color the cookie glaze, now is the time to add the gel food coloring. If you want to use several different colors, you can pour some of the glaze into different bowls. Add just 1-2 drops of food coloring at first, mix it up, and then add as much as you need until you get the color you want. Remember that the color will darken as the cookie glaze sets.
1
Place the glaze in a piping bag and decorate the cookies as desired. Let the frosting dry and set. It usually dries within 24 hours, but you can eat the cookies sooner. There is no need to cover the decorated cookies while you wait for the frosting to set. If it's possible, you can decorate the cookies directly on the baking sheet and then put the whole sheet in the refrigerator so the frosting will cool a little faster. When the frosting is dry, you can put the cookies together for your Christmas gifts. Or put them on a shelf next to a glass of warm milk for Santa :)
