Chocolate made from camel''s milk
Dubai-based Al Nassma is looking to expand its unique chocolate made from camel''s milk to the European, Japanese and American markets. Founded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the company aims to produce 100 tonnes of exclusive milk chocolate a year in the future.
Chocolate products
Al Nassma is already working with the well-known Austrian chocolate manufacturer Manner, and the product itself is already available in Dubai. In fact, more than 3 000 camels are already grazing on one of the farms there, which provide the milk for the chocolate products. The camel milk is then used in place of regular cow''s milk and the products are available in local shops, luxury hotels and private airports. Online sales are also planned.
Exclusive product
Al Nassma''s marketer says that the product is not intended to be sold in supermarkets as it is intended to be an exclusive product. He says: "This chocolate contains no additives and its taste is also interesting because of the local spices, nuts and honey that give it a unique flavour. Camel milk is also healthier than cow''s milk, containing five times more vitamin C, less lactose and more insulin, and is considered to be less fatty. It is therefore suitable for both diabetics and lactose intolerant people."
