And it''s not far from us - you''ll find it in France.
A house made of 1.5 tonnes of chocolate
Last month, the world''s first house made of chocolate opened its doors for just 2 days. It may look like it''s made of wood, but it''s actually made entirely of chocolate and took 1.5 tonnes to build. It''s not just the walls, windows, doors and roof that are chocolate, but also all the crockery, cutlery, glasses, furniture, clocks, books, even the fireplace and the cute white chocolate pond in front. At just 18 m², it can sleep 4 guests, but they have to have a lot of self-control. The only downside of staying in this house is that you are not allowed to eat a single piece of chocolate, which is of course a must for any chocoholic!
Could chocoholics ask for anything better?
A unique experience that is affordable for everyone
The idea for this delicious masterpiece, which is housed in the French National Ceramics Museum near Paris, came from French chocolatier Jean-Luc Decluzeau, who is known for his many chocolate sculptures and other works of art. If you are wondering how it is possible for a house made of chocolate not to melt or fall apart, let us tell you that it is placed inside a kind of glass house called l''Orangerie Ephémère, which ensures that it is kept at the right temperature at all times and also protects it from insects and other animals that might damage it. For just €50 per night, guests staying in the house could also take part in a workshop on making small chocolate houses, led by Master Decluzeau himself, and were served dinner and breakfast in the chocolate garden next to the house, where they were kept company by chocolate bunnies and ducks. The only facilities missing in the house are a bathroom and a toilet, which are available in the immediate vicinity of the accommodation.
