Production according to old family recipes

All the production of their chocolate products takes place in Olimje, a small and remote village in the south-eastern part of Slovenia. The chocolate is made using cocoa butter as the fat for the chocolate. They do not use butter, vegetable fats or other substitutes, so their products have a shelf life of at least five months. When you enjoy their chocolate, you can feel that it is made exclusively with ingredients that are right for chocolate.

Čokoladnica Maribor prides itself on the old family recipes for pralines, which are still used today. They are the work of Alfonz Videtič, who worked as a confectioner in Vienna at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, until 1915, when he had to give up his job due to a shortage of cocoa and other imported raw materials. In the early 1990s, his recipes were fortunately taken out of oblivion by his descendant Rudolf Videtič, who bought the old folk school in Olimje and made a chocolate line out of two classes.

All the work is done by hand, which means that each product is processed at least four times:

1. when the chocolate is poured
2. when the chocolate has set and the filling needs to be inserted
3. when the chocolate is sealed
4. when the chocolate is decorated
