The sweetest Abbey event during the first weekend of December, presenting the best national and international chocolate brands, as well as smaller specialised producers of original chocolate confectionery. The exhibition and sales part of the Chocolate Festival takes place at the Hotel Kvarner, where each producer presents the best of its range in its own area.

Interesting programmes such as workshops, lectures, tastings, concerts and chocolate-related exhibitions take place in all the Abbey''s hotels and restaurants, as well as in art galleries, exhibition pavilions, museums and schools. In addition, pastry chefs work together to prepare a large imperial cake, and a special part of the event is the ''Abbey Paradox'', a unique event in which the flavours of the different types of chocolate and the quality wines of the region are brought together under expert guidance.
