Not only that, but it is also difficult to speak of this initially small project, which is now one of the role models for other companies involved in chocolate and chocolate delicacies in one way or another, in any other way than in superlatives ...

Do you remember the year you entered primary school? What about when you got married or when your children were born? Or the year you graduated from university? It would be hard to believe that you could forget such important dates... But all of us chocoholics can add one more year to our "notebook" of important years - 1994. This is the year of the birth of one of the first Slovenian chocolatiers, today known as Čokoladni atelje Dobnik. It is a year that Marinka Dobnik will certainly not forget, as it was one of the most important turning points in her life when she decided to change her current career for another.
On the one hand, the arduous journey of proving herself and establishing herself in a new field was nevertheless a sweet one - both metaphorically and literally. The story of the Dobnik Chocolate Atelier began in Griže near Žalec, where the company still has an office, as well as the workshop itself, where they make their sweet treats exclusively by hand, ensuring top quality, with the added quality of the fact that the products contain no preservatives. In the years since its establishment, the Dobnik Chocolate Atelier has expanded to other Slovenian towns and cities; today you will find their branches in Ljubljana, Celje and Žalec, and it will be even easier to make your sweet purchases in their online shop, so that you can see for yourself, or rather your taste buds, the quality of their products.
Diabetics, look away!
You''re probably now interested in finding out exactly what the Dobnik Chocolate Atelier has to offer. In addition to a wide variety of chocolates, with imaginatively selected additives to enhance the basic taste, their extremely varied offer includes pralines, biscuits, chocolates, hot chocolate, and even a selection of premium coffees and cakes - chocolate or those made by combining chocolate and various fruits such as raspberries, oranges, etc., and they can also create a completely unique wedding cake for you in any size. In the past, their cakes have even earned them a special award in the "Ljubljana Quality Selection" - the Chocolate Atelier Dobnik was ranked at the top in the category of confectionery shops, which earned it the Quality Seal.
Of course, the title of this paragraph is a bit of a joke - while the offer of the Chocolate Atelier Dobnik is certainly very sweet, and above all delicious, there are also many things that are suitable for those who, for various reasons, avoid a higher sugar intake. Their dark chocolates with a high cocoa content certainly fall into this category, as these are extremely beneficial to health in moderation, lowering cholesterol levels and preventing cardiovascular disease, among other things. Another special feature of the range offered by Chocolate Atelier Dobnik is that it is always adapted to the seasons, which is why special lines are prepared containing seasonal additives, and the choice of the type of chocolate is also adapted to the time of year.
A tribute to "Dr Fig"
You would probably be hard pressed to find a Slovene who does not know who is behind the famous pseudonym "Doctor Fig". It is, of course, France Prešeren, who used to make children happy by giving them sweet figs. On the other hand, there are probably far fewer people who know who is behind the equally famous, and above all popular, ''Prešeren Figs'', dry figs in a special cream, coated with chocolate, milk or dark. Even if you didn''t know the answer before, it must be at least slightly dawned on you now...
Of course, this is the Chocolate Atelier Dobnik - "Prešern''s figs" are one of their protected specialities (the "Franč''s cheesecakes" also fall into this category), which are even used as a protocol gift, which is certainly one of the best proofs of their excellence. If you have not tried them yet, we would therefore advise you to do so as soon as possible and pay tribute to what is probably the most important Slovenian poet in a special way.
