Toppings for cakes

  • Reading time Reading time: 2 minutes
toppings for cakes

Do you always wonder how to frost a cake? You know the cake itself will taste great, but do you want it to look great? Don''t know how to make cake topping?

Or don''t know which cake toppings are really great? Great! I''ve put together some easy tips and recipes to get everyone excited about your cake! Both in taste and appearance.

Before you start baking, let me give you three chocolate baking tips.

  • First tip:

It''s almost impossible to imagine making confectionery without cooking chocolate, or the more familiar and often-used term, edible chocolate .
Pre-purchase tip: Check the ingredients or the declarations on the product beforehand.

  • Second Tip:

Because of the sugar in milk chocolate, you need to heat the chocolate slowly to prevent it from burning. It is easiest to use in recipes where there is no baking, such as cake toppings or other baked desserts. It also works well as a filling in desserts.

  • Third tip:

White chocolate burns very quickly, so it should not be used in place of dark chocolate in recipes.

I always follow the tips I gave you above when buying my own baking ingredients. It''s important that the products you use for baking are really tested and that you know how they behave in combination with other ingredients or how they behave with temperature changes. In addition to those, I have a couple more. Read them here.

4. Cake toppings

You''ve got a delicious and super baked cake but it''s just not frosted yet. If you want to give your cake a special and premium look, you can top it with a Bavarian golden chocolate cream. The cream impresses with its golden colour and taste, as well as its texture, as it is light and airy. It is suitable for different types of desserts: cakes, slices and desserts in a glass. If you want to add fruit, especially berries, to your cake topping, I recommend the Bavarian milk and white chocolate cream. You can also add nuts to the custard (I add pistachios), as it''s a great base for bringing out different flavours. The delicious Ruby chocolate will add the icing to your cake, thanks to its exceptional colour and sweet and sour taste.

5. What is the easiest way to ice a cake?

For the topping to look its best, which is of course what we all want, it is important that the cake is as flat and smooth as possible. When frosting the cake, make sure that it is really cold, otherwise the icing will melt even more. The easiest way to baste the cake is to lift it up. This can be done with a cake stand or by placing the cake on a moulding grid. Pour the cake gradually, the easiest way is to start in the middle and work your way towards the edges. Keep pouring until you have used up all the unchanged cake topping. When the cake is covered, lift it up with a spatula and remove the excess icing or topping. Allow the icing to cool and serve the cake. If you wish, you can of course decorate it with the accessories of your choice.
