garlic balls with cheese

Garlic cheese balls are the ideal choice when you want a warm, homemade snack that always impresses. The soft yeast dough puffs up nicely during baking and the melted mozzarella inside makes for a nice creamy centre. The smell of garlic and butter fills the kitchen during baking and immediately whets the appetite. The garlic butter, made with BAM dried garlic, BAM Himalayan salt and BAM black pepper, adds a special touch to these balls, creating a balanced and distinct flavour. After baking, the balls are once again coated with butter and sprinkled with fresh parsley, making them juicy, aromatic and perfect as a side dish for soups, salads or as a stand-alone savoury snack for get-togethers.

Instructions:

Preparation of the dough:

1
In a bowl, mix the flour, dry yeast, sugar, warm water and olive oil. Knead the dough well and leave it to rise, covered, for about 1 hour to double the quantity.
2
Divide the risen dough into about 18 pieces. Flatten each piece, place a little mozzarella in the middle and form into a smooth ball.
3
Arrange the balls in the baking tray close together and leave them to rise for about 30 minutes.

Garlic butter:

1
Preheat the oven to 190 °C. Meanwhile, melt the butter and stir in the BAM Himalayan salt, BAM black pepper, BAM dried garlic and chopped fresh parsley.
2
Brush the risen balls with two-thirds of the garlic butter and bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
3
Immediately after baking, brush the balls with the remaining garlic butter, allow to cool slightly, then serve.
