There are two types of macarons. In Slovenian, there is only one term, but in English there are two. "Macarons are the almond-based version of macarons, and macaroons are the coconut-based version of macarons. Our BAM macaron mix belongs to the first group, and is almond-based.

What are macarons anyway? They are a French dessert, what we might call ''delicate sandwich biscuits with a crispy exterior''. Each macaron has its own shell, which usually has a filling waiting inside. But if the shells are not made properly and are hollow, even a good filling cannot save us.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

1
Mix 250 g of BAM macronutrient mix with 50 ml of water at room temperature. The mixture and water are then whisked at high temperature for about 5 minutes. A water-soluble dye can also be added: if a water-based dye is used, subtract the weight of the dye from the weight of water in the recipe.
2
Stuff the resulting mixture into a piping bag and form macaroons on a macaron baking tray or on baking paper. Shape the macaron halves with about 10 g of the resulting mixture. Leave the prepared macaron halves to rest for 15-20 minutes to allow the crust to form on the surface.
3
Bake the macaron halves in the oven at 150˚C for about 15 to 18 minutes. Remove the baked macarons from the base once they have cooled. Refrigerate the prepared macarons or freeze them.
