Ingredients:

for banana bread:

  • 300 g softened bananas
  • 75 g butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon BAM vanilla paste
  • 200 g flour
  • 5 tablespoons BAM nutty banana, banana and cashew nut spread

Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a bread tray with butter. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until completely smooth. Stir the melted butter and BAM Nutty Banana Spread into the mashed bananas. Stir in the baking soda and salt. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg and BAM vanilla paste. Stir in the flour. Pour the batter into the prepared baking tin.

Bake the banana bread at 180°C for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick or wooden skewer inserted in the centre is dry. A few dry crumbs are fine; streaks of wet dough are not. If the outside of the loaf is browned but the middle is still wet, cover the loaf loosely with foil and continue baking until the loaf is completely cooked. Remove from the oven and leave to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. Then remove the banana bread from the baking tray and leave to cool completely before serving. Slice and serve.
