galleta with salted caramel and apples

The salted caramel and apple gallette is made with juicy apples, pleasant autumn spices and homemade buttery dough. This recipe for apple gallette with salted caramel will remind you of the taste of apple pie.

If you love apples with a hint of caramel, say hello to your new favourite dessert! We will prepare the Salted Caramel Apple Gallette with buttery shortcrust pastry filled with a salted caramel-apple filling.

What apples to use for the caramel dessert? Mixed apples will work best, giving a different and deep apple flavour. At the same time, this ensures that some apples remain tart and crisp, while others will create a jam that will take you to a cinnamon-sugar dream.

Ingredients:

  • shortcrust pastry (link to preparation is in the recipe text)
  • 3 peeled and sliced apples
  • 110 g BAM salted caramel topping
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 egg

Instructions:

1
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Sprinkle the work surface with flour. Place the dough on the prepared baking tray with a diameter of 31 cm. Place a 23 cm diameter cake tin in the centre of the circle and press down lightly. This will create a hollow in which to insert the apples. Peel the apples and remove their cores. Cut them in half, then slice the halves thinly. Add the apples, spices and salt to a bowl with 80 ml of BAM salted caramel dressing. Use a wooden spoon and stir everything together.
2
Mix the egg with one tablespoon of water and brush over the crumbly dough. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until the apples are soft and the crust is golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream!
